Privacy policy

Our baseline
DialogueMap is designed for on-device use on iPad. People in the room do not create DialogueMap accounts. Session content stays on your iPad unless you export it.
Information stored on your iPad
The app stores groups, participant names, seating layouts, turn events, notes, optional markers, and optional audio recordings. This data is stored locally on your device.
The microphone is off by default. If you turn recording on, audio is saved locally and stays there unless you export it.
Information we collect
In this version, we do not collect discussion content, rosters, notes, markers, or recordings from your sessions. We do not run ads and do not use advertising SDKs.
If diagnostics are added in the future, we will update this policy before release and keep classroom or meeting content out of telemetry.
Exports and sharing
You control exports. Files such as PNG, PDF, CSV, audio, and session packages are shared only when you use the iPad share sheet or Files.
Once exported, files are governed by the destination you choose, such as Mail, cloud storage, or an LMS.
Apple services
If iCloud Backup is enabled, DialogueMap data may be included in that backup. Apple processes App Store purchases and related account information; we do not receive your Apple ID credentials.
Schools and workplace use
Data recorded on an institution-managed iPad remains under that institution's control. Individual reports omit other participants' names by default.
We do not sell personal data and do not build ad profiles on students, staff, or meeting participants.
Retention and deletion
You can delete sessions, groups, or all app data from within the app. Deleting a session also deletes any recording attached to that session.
Policy updates
When this policy changes, we update this page and its date. Material changes are also noted in app release notes when appropriate.
