How to create a new map
- Open DialogueMap and choose a group.
- Tap Start a map.
- Pick a seating layout (circle, semicircle, horseshoe, rows, or open floor).
- Drag seats if needed so the map matches the room.
- Tap a participant when they begin speaking. Tap the next speaker as the discussion moves.
- Use action buttons like Silence, Pair share, or Teacher talk when the room shifts modes.
- Tap stop to open Frames and review time, turns, and the map together.
FAQ
Do participants need the app?
No. One facilitator runs DialogueMap on one iPad.
Can I start for free?
Yes. Free supports up to 10 seated participants. Plus is a one-time purchase that raises the cap to 50 and unlocks additional features.
What happens if my group has more than 10 people on Free?
You can still start a map. Extra people stay in the tray until you free seats or unlock Plus.
Is audio recording on by default?
No. Microphone recording is off by default and must be enabled by you.
Where is my session data stored?
On your iPad. Data is shared only when you export files.
How do I restore Plus on a new iPad?
Open app settings and use Restore Purchases with the same Apple ID used for the original purchase.
Can I export reports?
Yes. Exports use the iPad share sheet. Plus unlocks CSV, PDF, audio export, and session packages.
